Golden Binoculars–Gen 2 (2024–)
Golden Binoculars–Gen 2 evolves from life-sized immediacy into a doll-sized distillation, transforming raw emotion into polished conceptual clarity. The core of the work is a precision-cast metal instrument that performs an unsettling inversion: rather than viewing the distance, its mirrors magnify the observer’s own flaws—pores and scars—with unforgiving detail. By weaponizing the gaze to reflect inward, the sculpture confronts the "unedited self" often hidden behind curated digital facades. This duality—a refined exterior versus an intrusive internal reflection—challenges viewers to question whether they are looking at truth or a construction, exposing the fiction of virtual refuge.
